Humphrey Nash (Humphrey) > The 8080 image has more resolution in this very small crop of the magazines, but look at the whole picture.  The 5050 image appears sharper.  The playground pics show more noise in the 5050 images but this can be removed to give a more smooth plastic look if you prefer, but why bother since it doesn't show in normal applications.
Humphrey Nash (Humphrey) > My son once pointed out (in connection with computer monitors)that colors are as important as resolution in conveying information which translates into picture quality.  The camera(lens/imager/processor) which handles color better will produce the better picture, other things being equal.
Humphrey Nash (Humphrey) > The eye pictures are crops of pictures from Phil's dpreview site.  The IR girl are crops from pictures on Dave's Imaging Resources site.  Colors seem more distinct with the Oly 5050.
